Tim Schafer would love a 'new game or DLC' for Brutal Legend

Double Fine's Tim Schafer says he "would love to go back" to the Brutal Legend universe, and he thinks Jack Black "might be up for it, too," the well-known actor and musician behind the lead role.

It cost around $25 million, and ponying up that kind of cash for an entire sequel "might be tricky," admits Schafer, but he'd love to return "even just do a DLC pack".

Brutal Legend's Double Fine is all thumbs up for SteamOS, especially as their games are already working on Linux. Controllers will no longer be "an afterthought" by PC developers.

Paradox Interactive also jumps in proclaiming the new Europa Universalis IV and Crusader Kings II is ready to go for SteamOS including "all our future games".

Double Fine "still trying" to secure Stacking and Costume Quest IPs

Tim Schafer has confirmed his studio is "still trying to get the rights" to their bite size properties Stacking and Costume Quest, which were picked up by Nordic Games during the THQ auction.

They're even after Brutal Legend from EA and Iron Brigade from Microsoft. They want to bring full IP and distribution rights "in house." Later in 2013, Double Fine's Kickstarter project releases.

Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend finally landing on PC via Steam

Double Fine Productions has announced that the PC version of Brutal Legend, starring Jack Black, is finally hitting Steam after being released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2009. The hard rock inspired title will be $19.99 USD, but preorders will slash 25% off the price for $14.99 USD.
