Using the UbiArt Framework engine from Rayman Origins, Ubisoft has announced Child of Light from Far Cry 3 creative director Patrick Plourde. It's a side-scrolling "fairytale game" that's due out this holiday.
It embodies the "Squaresoft spirit" of PSOne era JRPGs Final Fantasy VIII and Vagrant Story, describes the publisher. Plourde created Child of Light as a "counter-point" to Far Cry.
It looks like another Rayman game is coming down the pike, as Ubisoft has registered two new domains for RaymanLegends.com and Rayman-Legends.com.
The demo for one of the freshest platformers in many a moon, Rayman Origins, is now available on Steam. Gamers who want to check out the demo can do so from the Steam app or from the official game page . The demo is a mere 845GB.
Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Origins is in development for the PC and will be released on 30th March, 2012.
Players can control Rayman in the solo campaign, or have up to three friends join in or leave any time as Globox or as one of the two Teensies in the offline multiplayer mode using four controllers on one computer.
