City Interactive has formally announced Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 to the world. The Polish developer will be showcasing the sequel at this year's E3 in California.
It's an ambitious project as City licenses Crytek's CryENGINE 3 technology to develop the game, the same engine tech used in Crysis 2. It's due 2012 some time.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior will finally be making its debut on the PlayStation 3 this coming June 28. The game had already been released to good sales on the PC and Xbox 360 last June 2010.
City Interactive announce that Sniper: Ghost Warrior has passed the one million sold milestone for the series, after combining Xbox 360 and PC sales.
This "bodes well" for the upcoming PS3 version which "adds a multitude of extras" exclusively to the SKU. A sequel to Ghost Warrior is already underway.
Polish outfit City Interactive has at least three projects on the go and two of them have been spilled as a WWII shooter and a sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
