Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III Latest News
Relic Entertainment and SEGA Europe are ready to show us the three faction leaders, Gabriel Angelos, Farseer Macha, and Gorgutz from Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III in a new gameplay video that's titled 'Prophecy of War'.
With Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III coming next year - and still being a mouthful - Sega and Relic Entertainment are starting to trickle information out pertaining to new and returning units heading into the final build.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 was a title a lot of fans didn’t expect to ever see once THQ declared bankruptcy in 2012. Sega purchased Relic Entertainment in early 2013 for $26.6 million as part of THQ’s auction of their properties.
So far, the only game released by Relic under Sega has been Company of Heroes 2. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 is being developed by Relic Entertainment, the developers famous for their work on the previous entries in the Dawn of War series.
After almost 7 years of waiting, SEGA and Relic Entertainment have finally revealed that Dawn of War III will return to base-building when it releases exclusively for the PC in 2017.
Players will be able to lead elite hero units and massive armies to victory, or oblivion. This is Relic bringing the series into the "modern era", building on 12 years of "explosive gameplay" by combining the base-building featured in the first game with the customization and heroes of Dawn of War II.
Segaa domain for Dawn of War 3, suggesting that developer may be working on another installment in the Warhammer 40K RTS series.
It's not definitive evidence, of course; companies often register domain names as a precaution, and this may just be Sega covering its bases, but it's been a couple of years since Relic released, so the timing would make a certain kind of sense.
