Looks like things are going well for WildStar! The sci-fi MMO made the transition to free-to-play last year, and looks to be hitting Steam pretty soon. Chad Moore, the newly-appointed director of the game gave an update on where things are headed this year.

Wildstar recently went free-to-play, and NCSoft has announced that the comedic sci-fi MMORPG will be hitting Steam later this year. If that weren't enough, a major content update will be released alongside the Steam launch. The update is called Destination Arcterra, an adventure taking place in a wintry snowscape similar to Hoth.

Carbine Studios has announced that the Protostar Gala Winterfest Extravaganza has started in their irreverent MMO WIldstar. It will run from now through to 1 January 2016. The Gala will be taking place at Protostar’s SuperMall-in-the-Sky, which will feature deals on in-game goodies and serving up exclusive content for players, including costumes, daily quests, festive furniture, and public events.

Carbine Studios' colourful sci-fi MMO WildStar has made the seemingly inevitable switch from a monthly subscription model over to free-to-play today, and to celebrate the team's released a new launch trailer.

The F2P switch comes alongside a new content update, WildStar: Reloaded, which introduces a stat system revamp, improvements to the early game, better crafting and more. You can get the full rundown right here.

MMO WildStar will go free-to-play on September 29, developer Carbine Studios has announced. The model change will come in a new update called WildStar: Reloaded, which also makes some major changes to the game's core systems.

Anyone who wants to keep their monthly sub will access the WildStar 'Signature Service', and will receive new bonuses and rewards. There's also a new in-game store which sells the usual variety of cosmetic items, XP boosts and so on. If you've been a paying customer for a while, you might want to check out the Cosmic Rewards programme, which offers bonuses depending on how much players have spent on the game.
