Under the terms of the company’s acquisition in 2006, Viacom apparently offered an additional incentive which would see them get extra cash dependent upon the success of Rock Band.
Still this might not be the end with a final offer being made in 2009 once Rock Bands performance through the rest of 2008 is tallied.
"In addition, to the extent financial results exceed specific contractual targets against a defined gross profit metric through 2008, former Harmonix shareholders will be eligible for incremental earn-out payments with respect to the years ended December 31, 2007 and December 31, 2008," Viacom's 10-K statement read.
