Game retailers have recently been increasing the pre-order wars by offering incentives like free Microsoft points or exclusive content in-game. Now HMV declare that pre-ordering Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 with them will net customers two exclusive weapons to be used in-game.
Will gamers have to worry not just about platform but also retail exclusives now?
“This type of offer allows us to give something back to the hardcore fans who made the game such a success in the first place,” said a HMV spokesperson speaking to MCV trade publication. “Vegas 2 is an awesome sequel to the best selling original – game quality and a strong marketing plot is what effects a games sales.”
The two guns in question, the TAR21 Assault Rifle and the M486 Assault Rifle will be available to activate by a code and is applicable to the PC, Xbox360 and PS3 versions.
