According to movie site Latin Review a new spec script penned by Stuart Beattie is based on the novel Halo: Fall of Reach, and is floating around Hollywood right now.
So excited is Hollywood that conceptual artist Kasra Farahani, whose work includes Hancock and Spiderman 3, has already put some scenes together.
This is all in the hope of wooing Microsoft in a presentation if things go ahead, though I should imagine that even the corporate giant is a little sceptical after what happened the first time.
The first Halo movie project, which had Peter Jackson attached, fell through over pay disputes between Fox and Universal Studios. Whether this film pitch will be able to escape the clutches of boardroom buffoons is yet to be seen.
”There are some big time professionals in Hollywood who are also Halo fans that want to see the movie made,” writes Latin Review. ”I scored five pieces of the concept art and will be releasing them on a weekly basis for the next five weeks.”
The first ”scored” piece of concept artwork shows three Spartans ‘sky diving’ to the planet after their ships have been shot down, and are subsequently crashing toward the planet below.
Admittedly at first glance it looks like they’re flying through space, and so rather silly.
