In an exclusive interview with IGN today, Executive Producer John Melchior revealed that Sierra are working with Team 17 on a new Leisure Suit Larry game entitled “Box Office Bust” which is to be released on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
It's well known that the last game wasn't a huge success, it didn't do very well with sales and generally departed from the past games that were released in the late 1980's, but this time they've got a new developer that hopes to create a sequel with true mechanics and a vision that it catered towards today's gamers.
Melchior said; “I took this game over after Magna Cum Laude and the initial designing of its sequel, but after we sat down and reviewed the last game and looked to where they wanted to take it we decided to put the brakes on this franchise and bring it back in a big way. The last game was torn apart and I think it was just the wrong approach for this franchise. “
We expect to see an official announcement from Sierra sent out soon. Stay tuned for more details.
