Sony has revealed some of the first integrations into their upcoming virtual Home community. They plan to release arcade like renditions of games as well as give gamers access to unseen areas in titles like Resistance: Fall of Man.
The announcement has details on first-party titles getting the Home Portal treatment like Resistance, Drakes Fortune and Warhawk which is apparently going to get its own interactive “war room”.
Home™ is a real-time 3D, networked community that serves as a meeting place for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) users from around the world, where they can interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share content and even build their own personal spaces. Home™ will be available as a free download from the PLAYSTATION®Store and will launch directly from the PS3™ system’s Home Menu.
Unseen areas and “intercepted” radio communiqué between US and EU forces for Resistance: Fall of Man. A 2D side-scrolling arcade game complete with enemies and exploding barrels for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Lastly, but certainly not least by the sounds of things, a fully interactive “war room” for gamers to plan and strategise upcoming matches for Warhawk.
No official date from Sony when Home will be unleashed to PlayStation gamers but it is expected soon.
