It was rumoured that Konami would be taking the SAW franchise under its wing, claiming its second big horror property.
Well it’s true, Konami are to publish Zombie Studios’ SAW videogame on console and PC this fall, around the time SAW IV releases in cinema. The game follows an original story with Jigsaw.
The player will have to try and solve the torture puzzles set by Jigsaw as they fight for their life. Beside the Silent Hill franchise, SAW is now Konami’s other bid in the survival horror genre.
”Because we have leadership in the survival horror genre, we’re passionate about it and wanted to find another property on par with ‘Silent Hill,” explained Konami’s David Daniels.
”One of the big pillars of ‘Saw’ is the maniacal, twister serial killer Jigsaw’s very unusual traps and you can expect that’s something we’ll carry forward,” he said. ”Some traps will even be a direct translation from the movies, particularly the iconic ones fans love.”
Daniels wouldn’t comment but there’s a high chance that actor Tobin Bell will provide the voiceover work for his character Jigsaw in the game, reports Variety.
