Shock, disbelief - these two words seldom travel through our minds when it comes to publisher EA and sequel plans. Exec John Pleasants has outed two.
DICE are working on Battlefield 3, which the COO ”had the luxury” of gorping at, along with confirmation that Criterion’s Burnout team is to give Need for Speed time in their garage.
”We’ve taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need for Speed franchise,” EA COO John Pleasants announced during the William Blair Growth Stock Conference.
”So we now have that in our favor because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion.” I’m not sure but this could mean that Need for Speed will be the dogs golden dangly bits again.
”I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product,” he continued. It’s not going to see this fiscal year, ”but that is a product that is looking very good.”
More Need for Speed and Battlefield - are you shocked at all? In disbelief? Didn’t think so.
