EA Sports’ Peter Moore announced the delay for Grand Slam Tennis on Xbox 360 and PS3 when the Wii version shipped with MotionPlus support. It ”ruined” standard pads.
Now Grand Slam Tennis shall continue to wait for Natal and Sony’s motion controller ”to come out.” EA Sports Active has also played a part in the decision to hold off the tennis match.
Moore was asked if the next-gen releases of Grand Slam Tennis will ever make it to retail. ”You will do on the new motion technologies,” he replied.
”One thing that became glaringly obvious is that once you started playing Wii MotionPlus tennis and then you go back to” standard controllers, he explained.
”It’s two things,” he said. ”Active is such a powerful platform that we have to bring in resources to take advantage of that and get more stuff coming down the pipe.”
”Secondly we’ve decided just to wait for Natal and for the Sony motion controller to come out.” Sony’s PS3 Wand is expected sometime in spring of next year, while Natal is thought to be arriving later in the fall of 2010. Does Wii MotionPlus impress you, videogamer?
