Developer of PSN title PAIN, Idol Minds has supposedly trimmed its employee roster in a bid to survive ”Sony budget cuts,” as the platform holder is their only income avenue.
That’s according to sources, who also say 26 of the total 46 developers have been laid off. Idol Minds is based in Louisville, Colorado. It’s been open for 11 years selling over 5m games.
”Our sources say the latest job cuts may be connected to “Sony budget cuts.” Sony is currently Idol Minds’ only source of funding, our sources tell us,” reports Kotaku.
Idol Minds latest release has been PAIN for the PlayStation Network, which was released back in 2007 and has been supported by the studio with downloadable content. Here’s hoping this is the worst it gets for the small developer in Colorado. Check the eye-watering trailer below.
