Empire At War and Universe At War’s developer Petroglyph are busy moulding their MMORTS project, and Trion have jumped at the chance to publish it.
The Las Vegas team are ”extremely excited” to pair up with Trion, a company that’s sunk $100m into their ‘Trion Platform’. Petro devs have pedigree from the Command & Conquer series.
”Trion is thrilled to partner with such decorated and extremely talented game vets as the Petroglyph team,” said Trion CEO Lars Buttler.
”We are very excited about bringing the world’s first truly high-end MMORTS to market and we can’t wait to share with gamers the innovative and fun game design Petroglyph is creating on the Trion platform.”
Made up of ex-Westwood Studios employees, Petroglyph formed and created Star Wars Empire at War to much acclaim, before developing their own IP in Universe at War.
”Petroglyph is extremely excited to be working with a visionary publisher like Trion World Network,” said Petroglyph president and co-founder Michael Legg.
”Combining Trion’s platform and industry expertise with our GLYPH game technology and our development pedigree will allow us to unleash a groundbreaking MMORTS gaming experience to the world.”
Let’s hope the old guard of the Command & Conquer games can release a stellar MMORTS when it arrives, it’s only a shame it’s not in the Tiberium universe.
