It will ”break the mold” of the singleplayer sports game, tease EA Canada. It will embrace an ”entirely new way” to enter the ring. Around 60 boxers.
”Fight Night Champion will break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing,” said EA’s Vancouver team in Canada, the UK’s arch videogame rival.
This is not an expansion to Fight Night Round 4 but a full standalone release that’s expected sometime in 2011. ”It’s something people won’t expect from an EA Sports game”, said gameplay producer Brian Hayes, talking about the new big mode.
He teases their ”lips are sealed for the time-being about that” so we’ll have to wait, but added it was ”the full meal deal with desert and a toy. The whole enchilada. All that and a bag…” reports IGN. It will have a roster between 60 and 65 boxers.
Fight Night Champion releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.
