"unite Mega Man fans together" in one super place.
It will include all versions of Mega Man, even the "crappy" original designs. They wanted to "preserve as much as we can" of the 8-bit Mega Man.
Keiji Inafune was speaking on a panel at Comic-Con. "We wanted to preserve as much as we can of the classic 8-bit Mega Man look and feel, while allowing players to project their own view of Mega Man," Inafune said.
"We wanted to create a platform where players can play as their favorite version of Mega Man, or maybe another Capcom character, or something completely different."
Character customisation will be an obvious feature by the sounds of things. It's unclear right now if pre-made characters will feature or if players will need to dedicate sometime to really get the look of their favourites just right.
All Mega Man looks are in. "We talked about how crappy the original package art was, but there's somebody out there that loves that one and probably wants to play as him."
Mega Man Universe will "unite Mega Man fans together all in one place." The Comic-Con panel ending with Capcom teasing more Mega Man titles.
"Mega Man Universe is going to be a great game," Inafune-san said. "But there are other things going on with Mega Man. This is a big year for me. You haven't heard the last Megan Man announcements for the future." Then came the biggest tease...
"I can tell you it's an oft requested thing you all want." Mega Man Universe releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 to a release date not yet disclosed. Are you a Mega Man fan?
