Despite the convention beginning in less than two days and taking up a significant chunk of land in Los Angeles, Call of Duty XP is still not sold out. The official site is still offering tickets for sale. The thing that has to worry Activision is that it deliberately limited ticket sales to around 6,000. In contrast, BlizzCon tix sell out over 30,000 invites minutes after the box office opens.
The ticket price of $150 may be a barrier, though all sales go to a military veteran charity. Attendees get the Hardened Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - probably worth $79.99 - and get to play paintball on a life size Call of Duty map level. They’ll also get to be the first to play some Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer as well.
Dropkick Murphys and Kanye West will also be performing at Call of Duty XP. Let’s hope they don’t perform in front of a half-empty audience.
