Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad update coming from developer Tripwire will fix the numerous bugs that plagued the game on release, but it will also reset player stats. Part of the reason is that the launch had glitches that resulted in players receiving unearned stats boosts and achievements.
According to Tripwire, "Early players will receive a special 'In B4 Reset' achievement to acknowledge their previous participation, and Tripwire says it will be 'looking at ways to give special rewards to the players that have this achievement in the future.'"
To compensate, the developer will be offering double XP for all player "for the next few weeks" to get them back to their previous level. "This was not an easy decision for us to make, but one we felt we needed to do to preserve the integrity of the stats and ranking system, and to provide all of the players the best experience with the game over the long term," Tripwire apologized.
Red Orchestra 2 surpassed the lifetime revenue of the original game in just two days, and three times more than their previous biggest hit, Killing Floor. The game received mixed reviews, with a 76 Metacritic aggregate .
