Red Dead Redemption went on sale last May and enjoyed both critical and commercial success, and earned itself a number of yearly awards, and led other Take 2 games in leading the company to huge profits over the last nine months of calendar 2010, alongside other popular titles in 2010 including NBA 2K11, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, and Sid Meier’s Civilization V.
According to Take Two’s financial report: For the nine-months ending on December 31, net revenue increased 80 percent year-over-year to $954.6 million. Non-GAAP income from continuing operations increased to $108.8 million, compared to a loss of $67.5 million for the year-ago period.
Not all is well, however. Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take Two reported, “We have no update on Max Payne 3 at this time.”
