According to Console Monster, ”The Evening Standard confirmed that the quotes regarding GTA’s supposed part in the London riots was to be included in tonight’s free paper. Although there is a possibility of the quotes being withdrawn before the presses begin.”
Mark Duggan was travelling in a minicab in North London on Thursday evening when it was stopped by officers from Scotland Yard’s Operation Trident, who specialise in fighting black-on-black gun crime. The officers were armed with Heckler & Koch submachine guns and there was an apparent ‘exchange’ of fire. Moments later Duggan was dead. The police claim Duggan was armed, while family and friends insisted he was unarmed.
It’s doubtful moral outrage and rioting was fueled by videogames; if anything, shooting someone in a car with two submachine guns… were the officers playing videogames?
