”We are developing Magicka for other platforms,” a Paradox spokesperson said, ”but because we are ultimately not in control of the process, we can only pitch it, we can’t commit to anything right now.”
“We’re not going to go out and say what platforms or commit to anything until the ‘powers that be’ tell us what’s going to fly and what’s not.”
When Magicka was first announced, other releases were mentioned as a possibility, but the company has never committed to anything. The Paradox spokesperson did confirm however that the game was going through the ‘first stage’ of getting the game confirmed/certified/etc… for these ”other platforms”.
Speaking to the developers earlier today, there were hints that the game might be hitting the PSN first, before then being pitched to the XBLA store. They also mentioned that there were ”development issues” in converting the game for those platforms.
Magicka will be releasing on PC on January 25th, for a retail price of around $9.99/£8.99
