Wargaming.net has announced that World of Tanks has reached a new milestone of 40M registered accounts worldwide, double the number of accounts it reported early this year.
The developer attributes the massive bump in subscribers to the major 8.0 update which overhauled the game’s graphics and gameplay, while adding realistic physics.
The game’s popularity in Russia, in particular, has peaked with the game at one point enjoying over half a million gamers playing at the same time on a single server.
