Wildcat Intellectual Property Holdings, the company behind trading card game Unit Commander, is claiming Wizards of the Coast have violated terms of a fairly intricate patent.
The claims suggests ”infringements by Wizards include, without limitation, making, using, selling, hosting, and/or providing access to within the United States, and/or importing into the United States, at least Wizards’ Magic: The Gathering Online game, infringing one or more claims of the ‘216 Patent.””Wizards knew or should have known that the Magic: The Gathering Online game would induce infringement by its customers.”
If Wizards knew such a claim would arise, why did they go ahead and violate the patent? We’ll see how this one goes.
