The ongoing development saga has taken a new turn as creator Michel Ancel has announced that Beyond Good & Evil 2 will be hitting the next generation of consoles, which means the upcoming Xbox 720, PlayStation 4 and Wii U systems, the former two which have not been announced yet and the latter machine coming at the end of 2012.
According to Ancel, "We are in an active creation stage and at this moment we are only focusing on the game and making it the best game that we can. I can say that it’s a very ambitious game and we need some tech to achieve that ambition. We focus on the game. We create it first, then we’ll see what can run it. We don’t say 2013 because we don’t know when it will come. We’re working to create a great game and it needs more tech."
Beyond Good & Evil, which was released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 in 2003, is considered one of the best videogame stories of all-time.
