Carmageddon Reincarnation, a project the studio had been working on since , is now fundraising on Kickstarter. The company is looking for $400,00 to get the game released by February 2013.
According to CEO Patrick Buckland, “Raising the funds through Kickstarter will mean that we keep complete control of the project and can make the game we know everyone wants to play – with no EVIL corporate investor or publisher telling us that we can’t run over old ladies or set fire to cows."
Carmageddon Reincarnation will be a remake of the original game, including classic levels, cars, drivers and powerups, as well as new content.
Some of the highlighted donation levels include $15 for a Steam download, a $50 grants exclusive content, while $1000 allows the donator to be an actual pedestrian to get run over.
Carmageddon Reincarnation will be released on Steam. The game was originally also due to be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network; console releases may follow some time after, or will be included if a fundraising goal is reached.
