Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that Monolith’s console MOBA Guardians of Middle-Earth will be available on the 4th December both on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, and also at retail. The retail version of the game will only be available for the PlayStation 3, with the retail version of the XBLA title coming at an unspecified time after.
The digital version will cost 1200 Microsoft Points ($14.99 USD), while the retail version will be priced at $29.99. The retail version’s price will account for a Season Pass which will include all of the subsequent downloadable content.
(One might assume that the increased price is for production of the retail packaging, and the Season Pass is to make sure the value remains on par with the digital release.)
The game is timed to release just before the first part of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit film series, which releases on the 14th December.
