Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello announced at the Wedbush Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference in New York that Mass Effect has sold around 890,000 retail units in the US in its first 24 hours of availability.
”We anticipated it doing well, so we’re happy. The tie ratio at the register is the highest in their history”, stated Riccitiello.
Riccitiello also revealed that 40% who purchased the game from major US retailer GameStop also purchased the download code for Mass Effect 3 DLC.
Mass Effect 3 has been receiving mostly positive reviews since its released on the 6th March in North America and 9th March in Europe for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Strategy Informer awarded the game a 9.0/10 score in its review, which was posted today.
