It seems Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was outed by Amazon France, which posted a product page for the unannounced sequel. Naturally, the page was immediately pulled, but the real drama came from the fallout afterward.
The French videogame site GameBlog, which first reported the gaffe by Amazon, states that Activision France demanded it pull the Black Ops 2 story, which it refused. The site then announced that Activision has disinvited them from the preview event for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and pulled all of its advertising from the site as well.
It's unfortunate that GameBlog had to protect its journalistic integrity at the cost of income and industry relations, and that Activision felt the need to punish the site for reporting what it saw.
Activision has not answered any press inquiries on the subject.
