Back in January the dev confirmed it had a new IP, and even suggested we could see something off it this year as they suggested 2012 was ”going to be the biggest” yet.
What the IP involves is anyone’s guess but at least we know roughly how far we have to wait which seems to be 2013 onwards at least, unless they’re counting Wii U.
The Crystal Dynamics website is looking for a Senior Engineer for animation and say the applicant would be working ”to create a cutting edge, original IP for future platforms. You will join a talented game team to develop and iterate on next-gen animation systems and tools pipelines for engine systems on third-person action adventure AAA titles.”
So we know the studio will be sticking with third-person action which is their strong suit after all that Tomb Raider adventuring. ”We have a ton of great content lined up from our teams,” said Crystal’s boss back in January of this year, ”and we can’t wait to pull the wrapper off some of the amazing things we have been putting all of our efforts into.”
Microsoft and Sony avoided new platform announcements or even teases at this year’s E3 event meaning that E3 2013 is the next logical date for something next-gen. Of course any next-gen projects will be unlikely to hit next year unless the platform holders go for a holiday 2013 launch.
Tomb Raider releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC March 5th, 2013.
