In Capcom’s press release, Dragon’s Dogma “shipped” 1M worldwide, which is technically correct. However, it sold a meager 190K units across two platforms in North America, and an even lower 120K units in Europe.
However, Capcom also revealed that the game enjoyed the biggest sales in Japan in 10 years for a new IP; the game sold 450K units in May. Thus, the game will be getting a sequel.
It’s a nice thing that Dragon’s Dogma is getting a second chance, since Strategy Informer awarded the game an 8.0/10 score in its review.
