Legendary Entertainment is backinf the motion picture adaptation of Mass Effect, and the company has hired a new screenwriter to pen the script, Morgan Davis Foehl. The script was originally being written by Thor and I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich.
Foehl has never had any of his screenplays produced, but his 2009 script, Whatever Gets You Through the Night, was honored as one of the Hollywood 2009 Black List, which lists the best screenplays that went unproduced.
What Foehl has done is co-edit the Adam Sandler vehicles Click and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.
Marvel Studios founder Avi Arad is producing the Mass Effect film alongside his son Ari, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. Bioware exec producer Casey Hudson will be the executive producer, alongside former BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk.
