Roth has proposed a new god game by the title of Maia. He was asking for £100k and the community delivered. Actually they threw him an extra £20k and there's still 45 hours left.
He's heavily inspired by the "70's Sci-fi aesthetic," the Kickstarter campaign. It's a "colony management simulator where you must keep your colonists safe, fed and happy."
It's "liberally influenced by nineties god games, the game will have a dark sense of humour and more toys to play with than you can shake a Molyneux at," continued Simon Roth's sales pitch. We'll be excavating an underground colony as we escape the rather hostile surface of the planet. There are minerals to mine, rooms to be constructed for housing, feeding and entertaining colonists, as well as the need to build defences to combat dangerous encounters.
As of now the game is in "early alpha" with a playable build due in mid-January, hopefully. Roth intends to release Maia next year during the summer for PC with no DRM. "After that, development will continue indefinitely, with regular updates, and swathes of new content every month," he promised.
