"just walked into someone's home, nonchalantly opened drawers, cabinets, picked locks, upturned a bed and talked to the freaking homeowner in hopes of finding something (they) could loot?"
As an NPC, you'd be pretty annoyed. You Are Not the Hero explores this - the game just got Steam Greenlit and is closing in on its $60K stretch goal.
You Are Not the Hero, a 2D action-RPG/platformer, has the player taking on the role of one of the townspeople, Petula, who is described as "unemployed, emotionally charged, ill-tempered, otherwise average young woman." When heroes enter her home, they ransack her apartment, grabbing her pendant. She confronts them with their thievery, but they run off with her beloved item - her quest: get it back.
The developer also promises minigames and sidequests, hinting at alternate endings. "The neighboring towns are worried about the increased sightings of Kobolds near town. What will you do? Persuade the militia to wipe them out, or figure out what's wrong and perhaps get their help? Wait what, you wanna be the Kobold Queen? I wonder how that will affect the ending...," muses the developer Donn Manalili.
Gamers interested in backing the game on Kickstarter can do so. The Steam Greenlight page can be found .
