"tactical, team-based, military shooter" that is H-Hour has met its funding goal on Kickstarter withy 4 days left to burn. Just over 2,250 backers have pledged around $210k, with stretch goals ahead.
Creative director David Sears of the original SOCOM is bringing to life a "spiritual successor" to those early titles. H-Hour is a "core multiplayer experience" for PC and PS4.
H-Hour will launch with "no less than six maps," four gameplay modes and "comprehensive community-building/clan management tools." It's directly inspired by SOCOM.
Sears claims this is "the kind of shooter that SOCOM would have become if I had continued to helm the series beyond the second release." He warns not to be confused into thinking this is some kind of HD remake of SOCOM II. They've cleared their goal of $200k, but it's unlikely they'll meet the far loftier stretch goals beyond the first at $250k.
