Microsoft will now be organized into eight divisions: Engineering, Marketing, Business Development and Evangelism, Advanced Strategy and Research, Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations. Engineering, which is where the Xbox One resides, will be divided itself into four units: Operating Systems, Applications and Services, Cloud and Enterprise, and Devices and Studios.
While Larson-Green is now in charge of the Xbox One hardware, Terry Myerson, formerly head of Windows Phone, will head the console’s Operating System, which includes the Xbox One’s core functions. Skype head Tony Bates in charge of developer relations and evangelism.
A major announcement is rumored to be coming with Microsoft’s press conference at GamesCom 2013 in August.
