The decision to bring an updated version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution only to Wii U, which includes reworked boss fights, was something of a troubling move for owners of the original.
Visual improvements were all introduced with the Director’s Cut, as well including The Missing Link DLC as part of the full game experience and not as some standalone affair.
”After our Director’s Cut announcement we received an overwhelming response from the community asking us to bring this ultimate edition of Human Revolution to other platforms,” said Eidos Montreal’s Stéphane D’Astous. ”We’re thrilled to accommodate that request. We can now say with pleasure, ‘You asked for this!’”
If we’re being honest, it was probably the Wii U’s lacklustre sales performance that made Square Enix buck up their ideas - the fact that Deus Ex: The Fall is also an episodic title for mobile didn’t go down well either with the community. No date has been given for when the Director’s Cut will reach Deus Ex on PC etc., or in what form it will take when it does.
