In an announcement for the free Beach Bum update for GTA Online, which includes new weapons, vehicles and jobs, Rockstar has also briefly mentioned new info on "some exciting new Story Mode updates".
Story Mode is of course the single-player portion that is Grand Theft Auto V, as opposed to the near standalone multiplayer of GTA Online. This new info is due "very soon."
Rockstar has a history of expanding the single-player experience within GTA with rather meaty adventures like GTA IV's The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Each added all-new protagonists and a slew of new characters, mission types and cleverly weaved with Niko's immigrant storyline. Of course Grand Theft Auto V already has three protagonists and so Rockstar are more likely to just add a bunch of new things for Michael, Trevor and Franklin.
"This is just the first of many new content updates we're working on for Grand Theft Auto Online in the weeks and months ahead. Please stay tuned here at the Newswire for word on the forthcoming Content Creator, full on cooperative Heists, and GTA Online's take on Capture the Flag - plus info on some exciting new Story Mode updates as well. We'll have new info to share on all of this very soon," Rockstar via their Newswire.
