However they ”highly recommend” performing additional installations from both discs, meaning an extra 12.4GB of space would be needed for the ”best experience possible”.
These are entirely optional except for the mandatory 2GB initial installation. Remember when console games were entirely contained on disc or cartridge? Nostalgia attack!
”The first time you start your game, regardless of which disc you use, you will be asked to perform a required installation of 2 GB worth of game content to your hard drive,” reveals EA. ”In addition to the required installation, each disc has additional content you can install to your hard drive for better performance.”
• The Multiplayer Disc, or Disc 1, has an additional 6.6 GB of content
• The Single Player Disc, or Disc 2, has 5.8 GB of installation content.
”We highly recommend performing these additional installations to make sure you have the best experience possible in Battlefield 4,” they added. Providing you didn’t unnecessarily install GTA V to your Xbox 360, you should have some room to spare? Just make sure there’s enough GB for all that Premium DLC on its way for 2014.
Battlefield 4 releases on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 October 29th.
