5 Lives Studios has just blogged their fourth developer diary for Satellite Reign where they reveal the much sought after $755k stretch goal has been raided by Agents, meaning even more corporate oppression.
That same stretch goal also means two new city districts to fight through and Russell Zimmerman is brought on board to flesh out the game’s story. 5 Lives want backer feedback on two corporations.
In their latest dev blog they revealed the rought cut of the backstory to two of the big organisations; Red Star and The Eternals. The team want to hear thoughts on their origins.
They also detail some more about the Industrial District for the game which is the supply-hub for the city. ”Any equipment or supplies coming in or out of city have to go through the docks in the Industrial District. Large piers protrude out above the city levels below where vehicles fly in to dock and unload their cargo,” they blogged.
”It’s not only a lifeline of the city’s resource, it’s also where you’ll find vast storage warehouses, plants and factories which produce energy and process raw materials to be distributed out to the SciTech District.”
The Kickstarter campaign managed to raise an impressive £461,333 for the Australian studio and has since gone on to funnel an extra £40,000 through direct pledges for the new factions and districts. 5 Lives will unveil more about ‘The Grid’ district at a later date. Should another £50,000 pile on top then two more factions and districts unlock.
