The Gamescom 2013 demo for Dead Rising 3 suffered from technical issues when the screen became overloaded with zombies, but that version was ‘weeks old’.
Capcom Vancouver is a stone’s throw from Microsoft’s big offices and the Dead Rising 3 team has been taking advantage of the close geography.
”If you saw it at Gamescom, we got a new drop from Microsoft literally that week, so you’re seeing optimizations happening right now,” Jones told Polygon. ”We’re in the midst of beta and final optimizations and polish — absolutely, we’ve got the game frame-locked at 30.”
Apparently the frame rate drops that plagued the Gamescom version weren’t skulking around in the more recent Tokyo Game Show demo. Dead Rising has always prided itself for the number of shuffling undead it could squeeze onto the screen for maximum mayhem and challenge.
Dead Rising 3 releases on Xbox One November 22nd.
