Recently Crystal Dynamics revealed they have got no plans for any solo adventure extensions for Lara in their highly lauded reboot, only multiplayer DLC is in the works.
The other interesting thing of course is that Reflections is subtitled to Lara Croft and not Tomb Raider. The only other Lara Croft title was the co-op stylings of Guardian of Light.
”I have to be careful because I know exactly where she’s going,” teased global brand director Karl Stewart in 2012.
”You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game. At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”
Are Square going to be exploring side attractions in the Tomb Raider universe with ‘Lara Croft: Reflections’?
”In this story, we’re working on re-imagining and re-architecting Lara’s character first and foremost, but then we bring her off of the island and back out into the world, and we get to resolve more things beyond the island as it relates to Lara’s backstory and things like that,” creative director Noah Hughes told Siliconera recently.
”So, there’s naturally room to go… and it’s important that we keep her human at the end of the story. But it’s also important that you feel that you’ve transitioned from not-a-tomb-raider to a tomb raider.”
