That would be the daughter of Ellen ‘get away from her you b*tch’ Ripley. Apparently Dishonored and Bioshock have influenced Alien: Isolation, with SEGA mindful of Colonial Marines.
Kotaku reports their source anonymously spilled their guts like a chest-burst victim, and that they work for SEGA and are close to matter - but would like to keep their job.
SEGA has taken the heaps of criticisms against Gearbox’s attempt with Aliens: Colonial Marines very seriously, and are focused on making sure Alien: Isolation doesn’t repeat mistakes. The character Amanda Ripley hasn’t really existed beyond a mere passing mention in the special edition of the movie Aliens.
Spoiler caution! The source claims we spend most of our time in a single space station with only one alien a threat for ”most” of the game, and we’ll be dealing with ”clones and soldiers.” The first movie Alien is a heavy inspiration with vents, lockers and melee weaponry heavily emphasised in gameplay.
Alien: Isolation is in development for current and next-gen platforms, reports Kotaku.
