The Realm is a point-and-click adventure with an Ico-inspired emotional tether between two characters. A girl adventures out to find a cure for her sick mother, and befriends a stone golem.
The world’s puzzles will be solved by using each of the two’s strengths and weaknesses as they traverse a cities’ decaying ruins fraught with dangers and physical obstacles.
Unfortunately not enough attention was stirred by the UK Kickstarter, which was hampered by not having something more substantial to show off the game beyond concept artworks. ”It didn’t end up the way we would have liked it but still we achieved an amazing amount of pledges and that is all thanks to you,” posted Atomhawk.
Despite failing to achieve their goal The Realm still managed to be ”one of the top funded UK game Kickstarters”.
”We may not have won the battle but the war is not over yet!” they continued. The team plan to return later in the year with a US account for Kickstarter and hope to nip at funds from across the pond. ”The lack of US payments was a crucial factor in hurting our campaign. So we plan to relaunch the campaign later this year with a US account. Also a lot of you wanted to see some game footage so we are going to work on that too and come back stronger!”
