The brouhaha over Dark Matter's non-ending has resulted in the developer pulling the game from Steam and re-working the ending to be less abrupt.
Iceberg Interactive CEO Erik Schreuder announced in a Steam Community post that the publisher is working on "a more conclusive and satisfying ending," which is not being developed by InterWave, but an external developer.
Schreuder stated that Dark Matter was supposed to be the first episode of a series, and that sales would finance future episodes. It's future is unknown now, but expect a new version of the game with a meatier ending sometime soon.
