Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, has suggested that his team are working on next-generation titles, and that they will ”probably announce something later this year”.
Pitchford made the comment in response to a fan question asking when gamers would see an XBox One game from the developer.
@TheFerns15 We're working on next-gen. Platforms TBD. We'll probably announce something later this year.

Another Borderlands installment is pretty much certain at some point, though Pitchford has claimed recently that it’s not currently in the works. Speaking with Polygon in February he said ”We are not developing that right now. We don’t know what that is yet. We can imagine what it must achieve, but we don’t know what it is yet.”
In the same interview he suggested that the team is working on new IPs, as well as Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 and a new Homeworld game.
