"entered a consultation period" at their UK studio Ghost Games, layoffs have taken place with one offer to staff being a support role for Visceral Games and their not-so-secret project Havana.
Apparently the Dead Space studio is working on a 'police-themed' Battlefield spin-off, which is rumoured to be launching later this year.
The staff let go at the UK studio were apparently offered redundancy or continue to work at the developer but in support of Visceral's project, say sources.
A spin-off in the Battlefield franchise would certainly fit EA and DICE's plan to not release a new major Battlefield title every year, but instead profit off the gradual release of new content under the Battlefield Premium service. If this project Havana is police-themed then presumably we'll play as an armed response unit. Will it be a straight shooter?
Perhaps Visceral are going to take this opportunity to not just have us running and gunning in police uniforms?
