Major changes are in in effect with the Phoebe update now unleashed upon the single shard universe of EVE Online. Developer CCP Games has changed force projection, meaning player-controlled space is due a shake-up.
Jump portals have been addressed, changing the way massive starships move across the galaxy, with ‘jump fatigue’ now something to consider. Alliances and coalitions are now more vital than ever.
”Phoebe brings a whole host of new changes, including Invention Updates, changes to travel in New Eden, the new Mission Objective Guidance System, the addition of unlimited skill queues, changes to trial account restrictions, multisell!, changes to exploration content and significant changes to the user interface that should allow easier and more efficient piloting of your spaceships!” says CCP.
Force Projection: ‘A revolution in strategic ship movement, improvements for heavy interdictors and structure fortification changes evolve the nature of nullsec warfare. Borders are shifting and conflicts are erupting as the great empires of EVE rush to adapt. It’s time for your corp’s strategists and logistic masterminds to shine, as the new world order will provide new opportunities for those bold enough to seize them.’
”The constant evolution in the universe and the collaboration between players are what makes EVE truly unique,” said Andie Nordgren, executive producer. “With Phoebe we have purposefully started to make changes where we don’t necessarily know the outcome, making it an exciting time to play EVE.”
CCP has also removed the 24-hour cap with skills, meaning you can now plan out your skills to be trained in by months or even years. A full breakdown summary of Phoebe’s changes to EVE Online are available here, and you can catch the highlights in the video below.
