Yacht Club Games’ action platformer Shovel Knight has managed to reach the 300,000 copies sold mark, the developer has revealed. I think we can mark a project that began as a $75,000 goal Kickstarter project a success by now.
“Shovel Knight has surpassed 300k copies!” tweeted Yacht Club’s official account. “A hearty “Thank You” to all Shovel Knight players out there!”
The studio released an extended breakdown of its development time on Shovel Knight back in August. Back then they’d sold 180,000 copies and were pretty happy with that.
A retro-style platformer in the vein of Metroid and Mega Man, the game has you playing as the titular hero, battling various evil monsters and attempting to defeat the evil Enchantress.
Shovel Knight is available on Steam for Linux, Mac and PC.
