Once the remaining two major alpha updates launch it’ll be time for the beta. For now Frontier is putting the game systems through its paces with multiplayer players.
A new video has been published by the studio to mark the release of Alpha Phase 2.0, as stat tracking and four different online modes are trotted out for testing.
”This is an incredibly exciting and important phase in the development of Elite: Dangerous,” said David Braben.
”Player stat tracking, the multiplayer networking code and associated management are all big new systems that are being tested with Phase 2.0 plus it’s the first time we’ll be able to test how the game mechanics perform with significant numbers of players all playing simultaneously.”
Free-for-all, two team deathmatch, co-op defense of a battlecruiser and a Pirates and Bounty Hunters mode are in. Today, Elite: Dangerous has raised over £2,300,000 from more than 43k backers.
